Alvaro is a seasoned Market Strategy executive with over 20 years of experience in the energy sector, working on projects across the US, LATAM, Africa. And Asia. He joined Lightsource bp in 2024, where he currently leads the strategy for U.S. Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS), overseeing market analysis, project evaluation, and regulatory engagement to drive the company’s growth in energy storage. Alvaro specializes in strategic market development, sales leadership, and project management, with a focus on emerging technologies like BESS, renewables, and microgrids. Previously, Alvaro held senior roles in market strategy and development, where he successfully led initiatives in renewables and energy storage across diverse markets. Bilingual in English and Spanish, Alvaro earned his MBA from Universidad de los Andes and an MSc in Renewable and Sustainability Systems from Penn State University.
