Dr. Kai-Philipp Kairies

Kai-Philipp Kairies is co-founder and CEO of ACCURE Battery Intelligence, a leading predictive battery analytics platform that manages safety, health, and performance for energy storage systems around the world. Dr. Kairies is passionate about sustainability and the environment, and helping companies improve their energy storage assets’ safety, reliability, and performance.

Before launching ACCURE in 2020, Dr. Kairies led the largest battery research group in Europe, at RWTH Aachen University. He also led teams of technical consultants to help mobility and energy companies improve the operation of their battery assets and advise on business model development. Dr. Kairies has published numerous research papers on the costs, benefits, and market potential of battery energy storage systems, integrating solar PV and energy storage onto the grid, and other topics. He has a Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering and Information Technology, an MS in Electrical Power Engineering, and a BS in Electrical Engineering, IT and Computer Engineering, all from RWTH Aachen University.
