Dr. Kyri Baker
Dr. Kyri Baker is an Associate Professor at the University of Colorado Boulder. She received her PhD in Electrical and Computer Engineering from Carnegie Mellon University in 2014 and worked at the National Renewable Energy Laboratory from 2015-2017 before becoming a professor. Her research group focuses on the optimal siting, sizing, and operation of energy assets, and utilizes machine learning to speed up traditional algorithms. She has been designing energy storage optimization algorithms for over a decade, from behind-the-meter assets up to utility-scale batteries. Dr. Baker has led an award-winning team in the Department of Energy ARPA-E Grid Optimization competition, and has developed algorithms that have help manage millions of dollars in power market trades.
