Jason Jones

Jason is an industrious, resourceful, and dedicated family man and professional.  He has more than 20 years of experience in engineering, energy, and entrepreneurship.  Jason received his Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in Electrical Engineering from the State University of New York (SUNY) at Buffalo.  In 2021, he completed the Global Energy Leadership Certification at Rice University.  Over his career, he has held various engineering and management roles.  Through these roles, he has gained valuable experiences in various areas of electric utility system and electrical generation project/plant design and operations as well as working on all phases of the Project Lifecycle.

Jason has joined the energyRe team as Senior Vice President – Technical.  In this position he will be leading various engineering, project execution, and transmission interconnection teams.  Prior to coming to energyRe, Jason has held the position of the Director of Engineering at ENGIE North America. In that position, Jason led multi-discipline engineering teams which oversaw many technical aspects for power generation construction projects and business development activities.   He had also led the transmission and interconnection activities for ENGIE North America.  In 2008, Jason relocated to Houston TX and assumed a position at EDP Renewables where he served as Interconnection Manager for more than 3 years.  Over his career, he has participated in the design and construction of over 10GW of renewable energy projects and many sustainability activities.

Along with his professional experience, Jason has demonstrated his business accruement with various entrepreneurial activities in real estate, online marketing, and technology.

Jason has also been active with the National Society of Black Engineers (N.S.B.E) since he was an undergraduate student.  His N.S.B.E activities continue today with his participation as an Alumni Member and various community service activities.  Jason is also an active member of the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers, the Project Management Institute (PMI) and the American Enterprise Institute (AEI).
