Radha Soorya

Radha Soorya (Dr. Soorya) is the Vice President of Interconnection and Grid Analysis at Invenergy. In this role, she leads interconnection teams for NYISO, PJM, SERC, and ISO-NE regions supporting development, interconnection, and operation of renewable generation, offshore wind generation and HVDC transmission. Dr. Soorya has 17+ years of experience in energy industry and has expertise in strategy and regulatory policy, grid planning and resiliency, transmission and interconnection planning, renewable and offshore wind development, wholesale markets and grid modernization.

She started her career in whole markets at Mid Continent Independent System Operator (MISO) and held several roles in transmission and operations departments. Later to MISO she joined Navigant/Guidehouse consulting as Associate Director in power delivery and grid analysis services and worked on several T&D planning and operations projects for several utilities and co-ops across USA, Canada, and Europe. She joined renewable development company Longroad Energy as Director of Transmission Engineering and established the transmission and interconnection division.

She held positions in various task forces and committees across Industry to promote renewable initiatives including storage. At WECC she chaired the study programs and was vice-chair of Anchor Data Set Task Force. In current role she co-chaired the queue reform task force for ACE NY and representing IPPNY on the Energy Policy Planning Advisory Council.
