Xu Chen

Xu Chen is a renewable energy finance and strategy executive with 15+ years of experience across energy storage, solar, banking, and consulting. He specializes in project development, project finance, and market strategy for clean energy and advanced manufacturing.

Currently Strategic Business Development Director at Midea Energy – Clou Electronics, Xu leads U.S. project finance strategy, tax equity structuring, and bankability initiatives to support large-scale energy storage commercialization. He works directly with developers, IPPs, lenders, and institutional investors to design financing solutions.

Previously, Xu held senior leadership roles at Gotion Inc., FTI Consulting, River City Bank, and Trina Solar. His background uniquely bridges manufacturing, project development, structured finance, and capital advisory, enabling him to connect equipment strategy with capital markets execution.

Xu holds an M.S. from Georgetown University and a B.S. from Beihang University, and serves on multiple advisory boards focused on project finance and capital markets.
